Celebrating Our Hometown Show in Upperville

Our summer kick-off is traditionally the Upperville Colt & Horse Show, and the Skyland Farm team made their presence known June 2-8 on both sides of Route 50.

Eleanor Green and Jus D’O had a gorgeous handy round in the 3’3” Junior Hunters receiving a score of 87 for second in her class out of 22! They performed other top rounds as well for a great week under the oaks.

Chloe Welsh took Blue Label around on the grass field riding to second and third over fences in the Local Large Pony Hunters in a very competitive group.

Lily Scheurich rode to top honors in the Local Pony Hunters and earned the championship, grand championship and was named Best Child Rider on a Local Pony with Bordeaux. She also competed in the Children’s Hunters with Bliss and earned the reserve championship with top placings throughout the division.

Madi Hitchen and Haymar’s Sassafras were impressive in the Medium Ponies and received two scores in the low 80s with excellent rounds.

Michele Trufant had a great week with consistent rounds and beautiful riding with her two horses Let’s Go and Kiltubrid Rhapsody in the jumpers and hunters, respectively.

Caroline Pennington and Sofia Car enjoyed quick rounds in their 1.0m jumper classes in their first show of the season.

Kenzie Smith piloted Ollivander to beautiful rounds in the Medium Pony Hunters including second overall in the Medium Pony Hunter Classic.

Everyone enjoyed the camaraderie and the 172nd Upperville show, which always brings us together for great competition and time with friends and family. We are looking forward to a fantastic summer!
