Soaring to Victories at Swan Lake

Swan Lake is a regular stop on the Skyland Farm show schedule, and it doesn’t disappoint, with a lovely facility, great management and a relaxing atmosphere. This Blue Rock Classic Horse Show was no exception, and the Skyland team returned home from Pennsylvania with lots of loot!

Michele Trufant and Kiltubrid Rhapsody had super rounds in the in the 3’3” Amateur-Owner Hunters, including a second, and they contested the Hunter Derby where they placed fifth with impressive performances. Michele also had wonderful, slick rounds with Let’s Go in the jumpers.

Lily Scheurich earned tricolor honors with Bordeaux in the Children’s Large Ponies, was champion in the Low Children’s Hunters with Bliss, and piloted Mary Lou Glover’s Blush to the reserve championship in the Small Ponies. They also received a score of 87 in the second round of the Pony Hunter Classic for fourth place overall.

Chloe Welsh captured the reserve championship in the Children’s Large Ponies with Blue Label. She had top rounds on Sunday, taking home the blue in both classes. She was also second in the 2’6: Non-Pro Hunter Derby.

Madi Hitchen had excellent rounds in the Medium Pony hunters, including second in her handy round. She was also champion in the Schooling Hunters with Haymar’s Sassafras.

Eleanor Green and Jus D’O jumped to first in the Gittings Medal and had stellar rounds in her 3’3” equitation classes throughout the week.
